Campsite near Granville

Granville is a French town in the Normandy department of Manche. It is known for its picturesque charm and historic heritage, as well as its spectacular beaches and cliffs.

Our campsite near Granville welcomes you to the seaside and climatic resort of the Bay of Mont-Saint-Michel, a former cod port and France’s leading shellfish port.

Granville is partly built on a peninsula bordered by schistose cliffs, known as Pointe du Roc or Cap Lihou, but it also extends eastwards onto the mainland, bounded to the north by the River Le Boscq and to the south by alternating cliffs and beaches.

Now a museum, Christian Dior’s Granville home hosts exhibitions dedicated to the couturier. Treat yourself to a stroll through his garden. An enchanting place, the flowers and scents will awaken your senses.

Marité’s home port

The Marité is the last wooden Newfoundlander. The Marité is the last remaining witness to the great Newfoundland fishery, and has found its home in Granville. After having served as a coaster, a pleasure boat and even a traveling television set for the Thalassa program, the old wooden rig has undergone several years of restoration. Work began in Cherbourg, continued in Saint-Vaast and was completed in Granville in June 2012.

Upper Town

During your stay at the campsite, a detour to the old town is a must! Sheltered by the ramparts, you’ll discover the town’s mansions, the Richard Anacréon Museum of Modern Art and the Musée du Vieux Granville. From the historic heart of Granville, a lovely stroll takes you to Le Roc, where you can visit the aquarium Le Roc des Harmonies and the Semaphore.
