Granville is a French city located in the Manche department, in Normandy. It is known for its picturesque charm and historical heritage, as well as for its spectacular beaches and cliffs.

Our campsite near Granville welcomes you in the seaside and climatic resort of the Bay of Mont-Saint-Michel, an old cod port and the first shellfish port in France.

Granville is partly built on a peninsula bordered by schistose cliffs, called Pointe du Roc or Cap Lihou, but it also extends eastward, on the mainland, bounded on the north by the river Le Boscq and on the south by an alternation of cliffs and beaches.

Now a museum, the Christian Dior house in Granville hosts exhibitions dedicated to the designer. You can also take a walk in his garden. An enchanting place, the flowers and scents will awaken your senses.

The home port of the Marité

The Marité is the last wooden steamer. The Marité, the last witness of the great fishing on the banks of Newfoundland, has found its home port in Granville. After having been used as a coaster, a pleasure boat and even as a travelling television set for the program Thalassa, the old wooden rig has undergone several years of restoration. The work began in Cherbourg, continued in Saint-Vaast and ended in Granville in June 2012.

Upper Town

During your stay at the campsite, a detour to the old town is a must! Sheltered by the ramparts, you will discover private mansions, the Richard Anacréon Museum of Modern Art and the Old Granville Museum. From the historical heart of Granville, a nice walk will take you to the Roc, where you can visit the aquarium Le Roc des Harmonies and the Semaphore.
