UTAH BEACH :
The beach at Sainte-Marie-du-Mont is known throughout the world by the code name UTAH BEACH, where, at 6:30 a.m. on 6th June 1944, the first American soldiers landed in Normandy. Between "D-Day" and 1st November 1944 836,000 Gls, 220,000 vehicles of all sizes and 725,000 tonnes of stores landed. The "oo" signpost thus marks the starting place of the Liberty Highway: UTAH BEACH - Bastogne.
The UTAH BEACH museum was built on the same spot where the American naval landings took place on 6th June 1944.
For its 50th anniversary, the museum was completely refurbished. With the help of films, archived documents and puppets, the story of this amazing day, D-Day, is uniquely reenacted.

Le Mémorial de Caen : A museum devoted to peace.
A few rooms devoted to peace allow you to test your capacity to fight in conflicts. Visitors can also go to a space observatory which shows the world's disasters with screens and maps.
At the foot of the Memorial, the Nobel Peace Prize Gallery brings hope of a dawn of peace.
Le Parc International:
On the outskirts of the town of Caen, a park has been devoted to freedom and co-operation of the nations in the Memorial valley. Today, the American, Canadian and English Gardens, and the Colline aux Oiseaux cover 35 hectares.
