Ferme Musicale : Angoville-sur-Ay This museum shows the different stages in the manufacture of musical instruments with state-of-the-art features. A visit to the stringed instrument workshop brings this part of your visit to a lively end. The museum illustrates the history of French wind instrument manufacture and is made even better with some articles made in well-known French factories. The large selection of ancient and modern instruments here gives it a lively, up-to-date dimension. As you go round the museum, find out more using the audio, visual and touch-controlled tools. |

Coutances
cathedral : Built in the 13th century, the cathedral in Coutances, together with Mont-Saint-Michel, is an important example of Norman Gothic architecture. In summer, an exceptional guided tour means you can explore its high galleries and beautiful bell tower from 30 metres above the ground. Coutances is best viewed on foot. Begin by strolling through the labyrinth of the Jardin des Plantes. There, the Italian-style terraces and woods of exotic trees take you back to the 19th century. A stone's throw away, the narrow streets of the old town, with its prestigious hotels and old craftsmen's cottages will draw you to the countryside and the sea nearby. |
